International Development

Inovact Consulting has a long history of working within the International Development industry.

Previously, Inovact was the Asia/Pacific representative of DAI, a global development company with corporate offices in the United Kingdom and the United States, and representation worldwide. In our role with DAI, Inovact worked on the frontlines of international development, tackling fundamental social and economic development problems caused by inefficient markets, ineffective governments, and instability.

Inovact also had a leading role in the establishment of the International Development Contractors Community (IDCC), the national peak body representing international development consultants and contractors working with the Australian aid program. Through the efforts of Inovact and other key stakeholders, the IDCC was formed in February 2018 and now represents members who collectively receive 95% of the total funding directed to the Australian commercial aid sector.

With experience in international research and policy development, Inovact was responsible for the preparation of the report ‘Accelerating economic development through engagement and development of local industry institutions in Pacific island countries‘ for the Australia Centre for International Agricultural Research.

With a particular focus on agricultural insights and development, Inovact Consulting works with developing or transitioning economies in the Asia and Pacific region by providing:

Tailored systems for programme management and project administration Expertise for development, economic reform and change management Access to best practice and up-to-date knowledge Specialised workshops and presentations for agricultural industry development and strategic change.

“A real advantage in having Brian involved in setting up the IDCC is his depth of knowledge and understanding of international development in Australia. He was able to bring his knowledge of the sector to the written work that we put in place for the IDCC, and he was able to have those conversations with potential members about why it would be beneficial for them to be part of the IDCC. Brian is very knowledgeable, he knows the subject matter and is very comfortable with it, and he demonstrated some solid leadership skills in setting up the IDCC.”
